Driving Home - sunset
I was driving home from work yesterday, same road I have driven probably hundreds of times and noticed how beautiful the sun set looked.
I - very naughtily - whipped out my phone and took a couple of pics whilst driving.
Beautiful I think
We dont always see the beauty that's there before us every day.

Glossybox. October 2011
It's here . ! my October Glossybox.
I've only recently signed up for this, my first box was Septembers, and I loved the products from that one - particularly the HDBrow palette.
It doesn't seem a month since the last box
So whats in Octobers box of tricks?
Firstly - I get a thrill opening the gorgeous box itself - like opening and birthday gift and really having no clue whats inside but knowing that you're going to love it.
The lovely pink box - I am saving these.
and then the delicate tissue paper with the little seal - how special it feels.
In this months box are;
1. Dermalogica Age Smart - multivitamin Thermalfoliant
2. Dermalogica Age Smart - multivitamin power recover and masque
3 .Leighton Denny Nail colour -Sex kitten
4. Stila smudge stick Waterproof eyeliner
5 Robert Piguet- 3 Eau de Parfum Samples
plus
a Dermalogica Beauty bag containing a very small sample of lip complex.
On the top is a card which tells you all about the products inside..
I have only ever had one Dermalogica product before - their micro exfoliator which I liked alot
so it will be interesting to try out the Age smart range.
The Nail varnish is a soft blue colour, quite pearly - not a colour I would have bought but I will definitely put it on later. The Nail varnish I'm wearing at the moment , which you can just see in the photographs, is Leighton Denny 'Supermodel' lovely quality .
I'm not familiar with Robert Piguet , he is a Parisian fashion designer. The fragrances sell at Harrods so sounding good already !
I tried the Stila waterproof eyeliner on my hand. It goes on beautifully smooth, well pigmented and as i try to rub it off, it's staying put.!
Looking forward to trying out my new Glossybox beauty products. Will be back to write a review.

Crazy Kitty
My daughters kitten is about 10 months old...and is adorable. We kept her inside for the first 6 months until all her injections etc were up to date...
She has discovered the outdoors!!
She is out half the night and comes home exhausted. But her main pass time is catching birds.
I feel so bad, I like birds..I mean she has a loud jingling bell but still manages to creep up on them.
One morning recently I looked out of my kitchen window and saw my lawn covered with feathers...and there...lay a dead wood pigeon. Now how on earth she managed to catch this I don't know...it's almost as big as she is. She was VERY pleased with herself.
A few days ago my daughters found her with a baby woodpecker. They took it from her immediately and put it in a box.. up in a tree hoping the mother would find it - but alas - it was still there in the morning. So the girls took it to the vet.
My dilemma is that Kitty has basic instincts to stalk, catch and kill...and I feel so sorry for the birds...
I guess that's the 'circle of life'

I'll leave you with a couple of pictures

Blue
I bought some blue /turquoise nail varnish, I know I should go and check what it is but to be honest it's too hot to move from my seat...and the fan is wafting air on me.
So as I was wearing turquoise nail varnish I obviously had to accessorise accordingly.
Bracelet ... plain ..I have had for ages
Bracelet - colourful was a gift from a special person- 2 years ago
Scarf was a gift from a friend who had visited Malaysia - about 15 years ago.
Earrings are silver and turquoise..and were also a gift!
so not alot of infomation on those things...but that what I wore.

Delicious!
After work I decided to treat my self to a light lunch so I popped in to Carluccio's. The sun was warm and shining and it made me feel as if I was on holiday.
hmm..but what to have?
The brushcetta here is always good so I decided on that...£5.95..but then looking at the fixed price menu
I saw they were offering two courses for £9.95...so..whats not to like?
Finally I decided to have the Brushcetta followed by Ravioli.
The Brushcetta was delicious, a decent amount of garlic, not too oily and the rocket was really peppery.
My ravioli came soon after...gorgeous...al dente pasta filled with a soft filling of ricotta and fresh spinach...wallowing in sage butter
Have a great day

New Shoes!
I bought new Shoes!
Yes they are Dr Martens
Whilst on a break at work the other day I was reading a magazine and saw these shoes advertised.
It was love at first sight.
I tore the page out, took it home and odered then immediately..and today Viola! they arrived.
Dont you love that feeling of opening a new package, heart beating in excitement.?.And there they were ...laying wrapped in tissue paper...so delicately.
The first thing I did was smell them - yes...call me odd..but I love to smell new things, particularly leather.,,
I slipped off my slippers....and like Cinderella...put my foot into the shoe....but ALAS !...I was not Cinderella but one of the ugly sisters...the shoe was too tight.
Sigh
How dissapointing
So tomorrow I will arrange to return them and get the next size up.
I may have to wait 3/4 days now...but there is a silver lining...I'll have another package to open!

As an avid blog reader and YouTube watcher I take great delight in reading about other peoples lives.
Most of the blogs I read I make-up and fashion orientated and some decor related..but what I also noticed was my penchant for 'French style' blogs.
What is it with the French? Look at almost any French woman ( ok apart from those working the fields and crushing grapes with their feet)...and they all have such effortlessly looking style..
How I wish I was able to wake in the morning..toss my locks like a L'oreal advert and stroll nonchalantly naked to the bathroom...well French women do, don't they?
I on the other hand groan as I drag my carcass out from under the dishevelled duvet...see Edward Scissor Hands style hair in the mirror and shuffle along bleary eyed to the bathroom - not even en suite!
Sigh
I envy them really ...I envy them because they give themselves time..time to look after themselves...to manicure..massage..highlight..pamper..and not feel guilty. But we do feel guilty don't we?
I know I do
Spending time and money being 'pampered' was always seen as a luxury..a self -indulgence that was a treat..a once a year Christmas gift...and it is hard to get that feeling out of my head
I know...the Doctors tell us how good it is to be massaged and manipulated..how good our body and mind feels after we have re payed our feet for all the walking they have done ...with an hour long pedicure..i know this! I really do!...so why can't I stop feeling I am being selfish?
maybe I need to spend some time in Paris...purely research of course...I just need to find a sponsor.....
dream on....

Although I first started using it when I was about 28..
The original 1927 formulation of Arpège is very true to its name--a musical concept of arpeggio--in a sense that individual notes are played distinctly one after another instead of simultaneously. Rose dusted by opalescent aldehydic shimmer unfolds first, followed by rich jasmine.
The Falcon is a Black glass orb, boule noire, in Art Deco style and sits on the dresser delighfully.
The golden image stamped on the glass by Iribe depicts mother and daughter, Jeanne and Marie-Blanche preparing for a ball.
This is a serious fragrance- The notes of the 1993 version include bergamot, aldehydes, peach, orange blossom, honeysuckle, iris; rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang, coriander, mimosa, tuberose, Parma violet, geranium; sandalwood, vetiver, patchouli, vanilla, musk
I always receive compliments when I wear this. I use it day and evening..although I'd suggest its more of an evening perfume
If you haven't tried Arpege...why don't you?
