Snow !!!

Finally..it arrived....the snow we had been promised, luckily I just got home before it fell...

I love snow!

Little Miss Fluffy Pants (as I call her) the lil' cat had not seen snow before..She was fascinated but wary. Did a couple of skids as she leaped out from the door...hid under the bench ...then very very slowly walked back  to the door... this happened about 5 times..silly kitty

Snow in the Air by Raymond A. Foss

Snow in the air
long before the first flakes
started their long fall from the heavens
snow in the feel, the smell,
the texture of the air
feeling the falling barometer
the shift in the weather
Falling lightly at first, while
I stood at the sink,
mesmerized, watching
their dance downward
Go upstairs, roust the girls,
hear the excitement, the joy
at the first real snowfall
Accumulating white, flake by flake
on the ground, the cars,
still quiet snow, light and airy
a film of white, cell by cell
cleaning the world
in white

have  some fun in the snow!

Is it just me??

I like the English language, I like words. I like correct use of grammar. and I get so annoyed when things creep into our language that are SO wrong....so let me tell you my two gripes at the moment

1) ...."for Free"....NO it is not FOR free...it is Free!!!! it could be for£5 or it could be Free but not for Free!!

2) "next up"...since when did we need the word 'up' in there? I now hear it on television ' and  next up we have blah blah"...please just say " and next we have blah blah...

Is it just me?

oh and don't  get me started on texting,,,that's a whole page full

I know I use the  ellipsis ...so sue me!!

Glossy Box. Jolie Box

Oooh it's nearly time. Time for my Glossybox to pop through the letter box,
I know some people wonder if  it is worth the £12 a month. I have only had 3 boxes  and  have loved every one.
Theres alot of excitement just recieving and opening the box and then you discover the products.
Mostly I have recieved brand  names I had not  heard of or never tried, and that, to me, is the  beauty of this.
I also  recieve the Boudoir Privee box, now renamed the Jolie Box. I have recieved only one so far.
I think I'll probably keep both going for  three more months and decide which one I prefer. Or maybe I'll relinquish both

Will you try?

Driving Home - sunset

I was driving home from work yesterday, same road I have driven probably hundreds of times and noticed how beautiful the sun set looked.
I - very naughtily - whipped out my phone and took a couple of pics whilst driving.

Beautiful I think
We dont always see the  beauty that's there before us every day.

Glossybox. October 2011

It's here . ! my October Glossybox.

I've only recently  signed up  for this, my first box was Septembers, and I loved the products from that one - particularly the HDBrow palette.

It doesn't seem a month since the last box

So whats in Octobers box of tricks?
Firstly - I get a thrill opening the gorgeous box itself - like opening and birthday gift and really having no clue whats inside but knowing that you're going to love it.
The lovely pink box - I am saving these.
and then the delicate tissue paper with the little seal - how special it feels.

In this months box are;
1. Dermalogica Age Smart - multivitamin Thermalfoliant
2. Dermalogica Age Smart - multivitamin power recover and masque
3 .Leighton Denny Nail colour -Sex kitten
4. Stila smudge stick Waterproof eyeliner
5 Robert Piguet- 3 Eau de Parfum Samples
plus
a Dermalogica Beauty bag containing a very small sample of lip complex.

On the top is a card which tells you all about the products inside..

I have  only ever had one Dermalogica product before - their micro exfoliator which I liked alot
so it will be interesting to  try out  the Age smart range.

The Nail  varnish is a soft blue colour, quite pearly - not a colour I would have bought but I will definitely put it on later. The Nail varnish I'm  wearing at the moment , which you can just see in the photographs, is Leighton Denny 'Supermodel'  lovely quality .

I'm not familiar with Robert Piguet , he is a Parisian fashion designer. The fragrances sell at Harrods so sounding good already !

I tried the Stila  waterproof eyeliner on my hand. It goes on beautifully smooth,  well pigmented and as i try to  rub it off, it's staying put.!

Looking forward to  trying out my new Glossybox beauty products. Will be back  to  write a review.

Arpege - Lanvin

I recently bought my beloved Arpege as I had almost run out...heaven forbid!

The online site I bought it from asked if I'd like to review it...so I did!

Pros:

Draws Compliments, Long Lasting, Great Smell

Best Uses:

Evening, Everyday

Describe Yourself:

Professional

Fragrance Type:

Oriental/Spicy, Floral, Woody/Earthy

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Arpege, to me is a mature classy woman.
Although I first started using it when I was about 28..
The original 1927 formulation of Arpège is very true to its name--a musical concept of arpeggio--in a sense that individual notes are played distinctly one after another instead of simultaneously. Rose dusted by opalescent aldehydic shimmer unfolds first, followed by rich jasmine.

The Falcon is a Black glass orb, boule noire, in Art Deco style and sits on the dresser delighfully.
The golden image stamped on the glass by Iribe depicts mother and daughter, Jeanne and Marie-Blanche preparing for a ball.

This is a serious fragrance- The notes of the 1993 version include bergamot, aldehydes, peach, orange blossom, honeysuckle, iris; rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang, coriander, mimosa, tuberose, Parma violet, geranium; sandalwood, vetiver, patchouli, vanilla, musk

I always receive compliments when I wear this. I use it day and evening..although I'd suggest its more of an evening perfume

If you haven't tried Arpege...why don't you?
